This is an old urban legend so it takes place in the time when the average Vietnamese person does not have a refrigerator in their home because the average person lived in rural villages back then. There are still Vietnamese people who live in villages to this day of course, but now you either live in the city or country just like in most East/Southeast Asian countries.
Since there were no fridges back then, people had to sprinkle salt on their meat and store it in a shelf in the backyard. One couple noticed that some of their meat disappeared (it's because a housewife from next door stole a piece.) The wife hid the rest meat in a different shelf but the next morning, it also vanished. She told her husband about it.
They decided to find the thief by staying up late. They hid behind a window overlooking their backyard. They finally found the culprit... (They saw a shadow and went to get a closer look). It was the old woman from next door.
She jumped over the high fence (which is obviously impossible for an average person, let alone an elderly person to jump over) around midnight to steal their meat and she would devour the meat raw right in the spot with a demonic look on her face. She had sharp teeth and fangs and was biting the meat like a wild animal. When she was done, she jumped over the fence back to her home.
The couple confronted the old woman's family and told them that their grandma has been eating their meat raw. Of course, the old woman's family didn't believe them because how can a sweet old woman eat raw meat like a wild carnivorous animal and jump over the fence? Later on, the couple went out of town for business so they left their baby with a maid while they're gone.
When they got back home at 1am, they came just in time and their nightmares have come true. They did not have any meat in the backyard that night. They heard the baby's cries coming from his/her room. They ran upstairs and to their horror, the old woman was next door was biting the baby's arm. Her face pale and her fangs dripping with the baby's blood.
At this point, the entire village finally found out about the old woman's true self. So they all banded together to hunt her down. They found the raw meat-eating old woman standing on top of a house. They failed to try to get her to climb down so they had no other choice but to burn the house down.
The old woman transformed into her true demonic form and laughs evilly. When the house collapses due to the fire, she lets out an evil, bloodcurdling scream as she and the house burned to ashes and then silence. There were no other sounds but wood crackling. The next day the villagers found a small skull in the rubble. The old woman's family disappeared, leaving everyone in the village confused and many questions unanswered.
