This legend is about a Japanese ghost known as "The Bald Man", but his true name is Kanbari Nyudo. He is a perverted spirit that spends his time spying on people for his own sick desires. Whether it is just trying to use the restroom, or taking a shower, he enjoys watching it all. For his appearance, he looks like a bald-headed, creepy old man. He wears a white kimono He peeks through bathroom windows, drooling from his mouth. His eyes will scan the room until he sees you, and then he will stare at you in hopes of seeing you without clothes. Sometimes, he may appear inside of your bathroom, drooling all over you.
Along with his nasty appearance and desires, he also has a terrible background. Years before he became a spirit, he was known as an old man obsessed with seeing a young girls. He would stalk the streets of his village at night, hoping to catch a glimpse of bare flesh from a girl. At first, nobody knew that he did this, and would treat him like normal.
But, one day, his family found out his secret. They were absolutely disgusted by what he's been doing and despised his behavior. His family now wanted nothing to do with him, and were ashamed to be related to him. As punishment, they shaved his head and banished him from the village.
Trying to start over, the old man built a hut and in the mountains and lived as a hermit. He tried to ignore his impulses, and stop thinking of girls without clothes, but it was no use. He eventually fell back into his desires, and his sinister urges took control of him. That night, he crept into his old village and kidnapped a young girl. He brought her back into his hut, tied her up, and did horrible things to her. Nobody is completely sure what he acts he did to her, but it is said it is so terrible that it is better left unsaid.
One day, the old man left his hut. While he was gone, a thief came across the hut and decided to steal from it. When he entered, he saw the girl. He took pity on the poor girl and untied her. Before they could leave together, the old man returned. They had a quick fight, and in the end, the thief was victorious. He killed the old man and returned the girl to her parents.
But the story doesn't end from there. The old man returned yet again, but as a spirit. He began to appear at the family's house, peering through the windows and terrifying everyone inside. The parents feared what the old man would do to their daughter, and so they ran off and hid her somewhere far away.
From that time on, Kanbari Nyudo's ghost has been going house to house, peeping in the windows of toilets, bathrooms, and bedrooms... desperately looking for young girls. They say that if you chant, "Kanbari Nyudo" in the bathroom, his bald head will sometimes appear in the toilet bowl. If you chant, "Ganbari Nyudo, lesser cuckoo" on New Year's Eve in your bathroom, the bald man will not visit you the following year.
There are a lot of stories that go along with this tale. One of the stories goes like this:

Afterwards, she knew she had to take a shower, but didn't want anyone to see her without clothes. She decided to wait until all of the other girls were done taking a shower, so she could shower alone in privacy.
When all of the girls came out, she entered the dimly-lit shower room. She dropped her towel, and turned on the shower. The water pressure seemed to be weak because all that fell on her was a slow dribble of water. She could care less, and started to wash herself with the trickle of water. Halfway through her shower, she heard a faint sound of laughter.
"Hee hee hee..."
It sounded like an old man giggling to himself. She looked around, but couldn't see anyone. She stood there, listening for any other noises, but all that met her ears was silence. The girl continued to shower and pushed aside what happened. Soon afterward, she heard the laughter again. This time, it was much louder.
"Hee hee hee!"
"Hey, you creep!" She shouted. "Don't think I can't hear you!"
She felt vulnerable standing in the shower with nothing to cover her body, so she decided to hurry and quickly finish the shower. Just as she was about to leave, she heard it again.
"HEE HEE HEE!"
This time, it was extremely loud. It seemed to be coming from above her. She looked up at the shower head, but saw something else. Instead of the shower head, it was an old man's head, poking out of the walls above. He was staring down at her, grinning creepily and drooling all over her body.
